A Place Designed to Grow and Bring People Together
We had the privilege of designing a workplace environment created to support Ubisoft’s teams. A project where operational performance and the employee experience go hand in hand. The goal: open, welcoming, intuitive spaces that can accommodate high occupancy, without ever compromising ergonomics or well-being.
Evolving spaces designed for performance, collaboration, and comfort.
The concept is built around a smooth, almost effortless flow, where every movement becomes an experience punctuated by moments to connect. Enveloping forms, light wood, and soft lighting structure how the space is used, while respecting the building’s raw character. The result is a deliberate balance between a strong architectural base and more nuanced interventions that make the spaces lively, welcoming, and easy to inhabit day to day.
The project’s coherence relies on a shared design language, carefully adapted to each function. Materials, integrated millwork, lighting, and visual cues form a continuous, legible, and durable framework. Key moments are concentrated around central gathering zones, true hubs of activity, as well as more intimate signature spaces designed to vary the rhythm: focus, exchange, collaborate, welcome.
This range of atmospheres directly supports the client’s three priority objectives.
Support growth by providing spaces that can evolve with future needs.
Optimize day-to-day performance with an environment specifically tailored to production teams, functional, efficient, and comfortable.
Create a unifying place that strengthens a sense of belonging, collaboration, and employee engagement.
The spaces were carefully planned to welcome both production teams, who require structured and efficient workstations, and support teams, with complementary areas suited to their specific uses. Circulation and pathways were designed to ensure seamless cohabitation between these users, optimize flows, and clarify work zones, without friction or unnecessary detours.
The main challenge was to design a high-density environment while maintaining a high level of comfort.
This required constant attention to three key levers: maximizing access to natural light, controlling the sound environment, and preserving a sense of spaciousness despite the number of workstations. Every decision, layout, rhythm, material, and lighting choice was guided by the same objective: make density feel invisible, and the experience feel effortless.
All of this was delivered under non-negotiable constraints: an exceptionally tight schedule, a design-and-build project completed in 9 months, nearly unprecedented for a mandate of this scale, and a very strict budget framework with no room for error. The key was rigorous needs management from the outset, followed by a precisely executed design process that stayed true to quality expectations while developing smart, innovative solutions as the project progressed.
A project where space becomes a tool, in service of growth, efficiency, and collective energy, for an organization that builds experiences worthy of its ambition every day.
